Oyo Residents Ask Olubadan To Intervene In Ibadan Circular Road Crisis Over Land Acquisition Dispute
Residents affected by the Ibadan Circular Road Project have appealed to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Abdul Rashidi Ladoja, to intervene in what they describe as growing confusion, loss of trust and alleged illegal land acquisition by the Oyo State Government. In an open letter, the Ibadan Circular Road Corridor Residents accused the government’s stakeholder engagement committee of silencing affected communities while engaging the media, creating fear and public misunderstanding. The residents called for transparency, proper consultation, fair compensation, and a return to the original 75-metre acquisition corridor approved in 2006, warning that deviation from due process could trigger social unrest and legal disputes.
