NBA Condemns Deadly Mosque Explosion in Borno, Urges Government to Strengthen Security

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Maiduguri Branch, has strongly condemned the deadly explosion at the Gamboru Market Mosque in Borno State, which killed five worshippers and injured several others during Magrib prayers on December 24, 2025. In a statement, the NBA described the attack as “horrifying” and “detestable,” aimed at spreading fear in the community. The Nigerian Army confirmed Boko Haram insurgents carried out the attack. NBA leaders urged the government and security agencies to intensify protection efforts, while calling on the public to remain vigilant, emphasizing that collective responsibility is crucial to preventing further violence.
