Two North Korean soldiers captured in Ukraine have requested to be handed over to South Korea
They sent a letter to a human rights organization in Seoul, asking for asylum:
“We firmly believe that we are never alone, and we consider the people of South Korea our own parents, brothers, and sisters. We have decided to surrender ourselves into their embrace,” they wrote.
South Korea’s constitution guarantees citizenship to all North Koreans, as Seoul does not recognize the DPRK.
