Six Suspects Remanded in Lagos Over Violent Attack on LASTMA Officials"

Six individuals have been remanded by a Lagos State Mobile Court for allegedly attacking Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officials during a midnight enforcement operation on Airport Road. The suspects, part of a seven-person group, faced four-count charges of violent conduct and obstruction of lawful duties. The operation, led by LASTMA General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki in collaboration with security agencies and the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) Corps, targeted illegal encroachment by commercial bus operators and criminal syndicates on Nigerian Airport Authority facilities. Despite assaults on officers and the burning of a tow truck, the enforcement team impounded 56 vehicles, maintaining professionalism and restraint. The case was adjourned to February 19, 2026, while one defendant was granted bail.
