Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter, Halima Buhari, has disclosed that her father was deeply aware of the disappointment many Nigerians felt about his administration, particularly over insecurity and economic challenges. Speaking at the public presentation of former Information Minister Lai Mohammed’s book in Abuja, Halima said Buhari often agonised over the gap between promises and realities of governance, stressing that leadership involved difficult trade-offs and imperfect choices. She noted that while Nigerians would continue to debate Buhari’s legacy, the former president listened to both criticism and appreciation throughout his time in office.
