Anambra Police Rescue 35 Kidnapping Victims, Recover Over 2,000 Arms and Explosives in 2025 Security Operations
The Anambra State Police Command has disclosed that its operatives rescued 35 kidnapped victims, arrested over 300 criminal suspects and recovered more than 2,000 arms, ammunition and explosives in 2025. Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu announced the achievements during an end-of-year briefing in Awka, attributing the successes to intelligence-led policing, inter-agency collaboration and community cooperation. He noted the dismantling of kidnapping syndicates, recovery of over 60 stolen vehicles and a gradual return of normal social life in previously volatile areas such as Ihiala, while assuring residents of strengthened security measures ahead of the festive season.
