Tinubu Government Declares Kogo Forest Reserve in Katsina as Nigeria’s Newest National Park

The Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu has officially designated the Kogo Forest Reserve in Katsina State as Nigeria’s newest national park. Announced by the Ministry of Environment, the move is part of the administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” to advance environmental protection and sustainable development. The reserve was formally handed over to the National Park Service by Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda. The government has deployed vehicles, equipment, and modern conservation technologies to ensure effective management, aiming to strengthen biodiversity conservation, preserve Nigeria’s natural heritage, and promote climate resilience.
