NDLEA Secures Court Order to Detain MV San Antonio, Crew Over 25.5kg Cocaine Shipment from Brazil

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has obtained a Federal High Court order to detain the foreign vessel MV San Antonio, its captain, and 20 crew members following the seizure of 25.5 kilograms of cocaine at Apapa Seaport, Lagos. The vessel, arriving from Brazil, was found carrying the drugs concealed inside its cargo hatch. Crew members from Russia, the Philippines, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan were arrested. The court granted the detention for 14 days pending further investigation and prosecution. NDLEA Chairman Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.) emphasized that Nigeria remains hostile to drug trafficking and praised officers for their professionalism and vigilance.
