RULAAC Demands Independent Probe Into Alleged Torture, Death of Man at Imo Police Tiger Base

The Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre (RULAAC) has called for an independent and transparent investigation into the alleged torture, disappearance and death of Onuoha Johnbosco in the custody of the Imo State Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit, known as Tiger Base, Owerri. RULAAC cited conflicting police accounts, a controversial confessional video allegedly recorded under duress, denial of family access, and the failure of authorities to disclose the victim’s whereabouts or body. The organisation warned that the case reflects a recurring pattern of deaths and rights abuses at Tiger Base and urged accountability, full disclosure, and justice to restore public trust in law enforcement.
