Court Awards ₦10m Damages Against Panaserv For Abandoning Injured Driver, Orders Salary, Medical Payments
The National Industrial Court in Lagos has ordered Panaserv Nigeria Limited to pay ₦10 million in damages for abandoning its driver, Fatai Ganiu, after he was injured during an official assignment. The court held that the company breached its duty of care by failing to provide medical treatment, stopped his salaries unlawfully, and never terminated his employment properly. Panaserv was also directed to refund medical expenses and pay all outstanding salaries, allowances, and bonuses.
