Former England & Premier League Star Arrested at Stansted Airport Over Attempted Rape Allegation



A former England international and Premier League footballer was arrested at Stansted Airport after Border Force officers intercepted him while he attempted to board a flight. The player, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of attempted rape following a complaint made by a former partner. Police detained and processed him before releasing him on bail pending further investigation. Essex Police confirmed that the suspect has been bailed until late February 2026 as inquiries continue.
