Delta APC endorses Tinubu, Oborevwori for 2027 re-elections.

The All Progressives Congress in Delta Central Senatorial District has thrown its weight behind the re-election bids of President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement came on Sunday during a Unity Meeting of party leaders and faithful, held in Ughelli, where stakeholders at all levels. federal, state, and local, declared unanimous support for both men, citing performance, leadership, and shared political vision.

The motion to adopt Tinubu and Oborevwori as the “sole candidates” for the 2027 elections was moved by Francis Waive, who represents Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Waive praised Tinubu’s ongoing economic reforms and lauded Oborevwori for what he described as “astute leadership and performance” since assuming office as governor.

The motion was seconded by Halims Agoda, a former member of the House of Representatives, and later subjected to a voice vote by Senator Ede Dafinone (Delta Central), which was unanimously adopted amid loud cheers from party members.

A vote of confidence was also passed in the leadership of Tinubu and Oborevwori by the attendees, including National Assembly members, state lawmakers, commissioners, local government chairmen, federal appointees, and other political office holders.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo, SAN, described the gathering as unprecedented in the political history of Delta Central, saying the party is more united than ever before.

“Since 1999, there has been no time that the Urhobo nation, Delta Central, has been so united than today. None. And since 1999, we have not delivered 100% in Delta State to one party,” Keyamo said.

He expressed confidence that, for the first time, Delta State would give the APC full support in the next general election.

“I want to bet with everything I have that for the first time, Delta State will return APC 100%,” he said.

Keyamo noted the synergy between President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, adding that their partnership would bring greater development to the state.

“This meeting is not just an ordinary meeting. This is the Ukodo base. No other senatorial district should have taken this initiative away from us,” he added.

Chairman of APC in Delta Central, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, hailed Oborevwori’s decision to align with the APC, stating that it had “reshaped the political landscape of Delta State.”

“Today is a day of unity, a day of purpose and vision. A day to reaffirm our commitment to work together as one indivisible family,” he said.

Also speaking, Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, described the event as a strategic move to consolidate the party’s grassroots structure ahead of 2027. He commended party members for their commitment and unity of purpose.

The meeting brought together a cross-section of the state’s political elite under one roof — including 2015 APC governorship candidate, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor; Executive Director of NEXIM Bank, Chief Stella Okotete; Chief Adviser to the Delta State Governor, Senator Ighoyota Amori; and Chairman of Ughelli North LGA, Chief Jaro Egbo, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s success.

They vowed to replicate the Unity Meeting across the eight local government areas in Delta Central, down to the ward and unit levels, to sustain the momentum.
