Fintter News: Kebbi PDP Vows to Sanction Members Sabotaging Upcoming Congresses

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State has warned that it will sanction members found sabotaging its upcoming congresses scheduled for September 20 and 27.

Speaking to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Friday, the party’s Legal Adviser, Nura Bello, said disciplinary measures had been finalized against those undermining the process.

“Our party at the national level has already constituted a Disciplinary Committee to deal with any member found engaging in anti-party activities or sabotaging the congresses,” Bello said.

Court Order Controversy

Bello also addressed concerns over a court order circulating on social media that reportedly suspended congresses in Kano and Kebbi States.

He explained that PDP lawyers swiftly moved to vacate the order, and the judge eventually lifted it, citing misrepresentation of facts and lack of jurisdiction.

“Kano was not even among the states scheduled to hold congresses on those dates,” he clarified.

Call for Unity

Bello expressed disappointment that the case was initiated by PDP members within the state, stressing that such disputes should have been handled by the state High Court.

He urged all party faithful to participate fully in the congresses, reaffirming that they will hold as planned on September 20 and 27.
