Adamawa ADC Disowns ‘Four-Man Crisis Committee,’ Labels It Fraudulent

The Adamawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed claims of a “four-man committee” allegedly set up to resolve internal disputes, describing the group as fraudulent and unknown to the party.

In a statement issued after a State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting in Yola, the ADC leadership stressed that no such committee was ever authorized by the recognized state executives.

The controversy began after Brigadier General Ishaya Bauka (rtd) claimed his team was mandated to mediate a crisis in the Gombe and Adamawa chapters of the party. The Adamawa ADC, however, insisted no such crisis exists, calling Bauka’s move a “self-serving fabrication aimed at creating confusion.”

“The individuals named in the circulation are not card-carrying members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State. Consequently, the State Executive Committee categorically distances itself from the said committee and its activities,” the statement read.

The leadership reaffirmed that the ADC in Adamawa remains intact under Hon. Shehu Yohanna Kambile, with no factions from ward to state level.

State Publicity Secretary Kussiy M. Thakur, who signed the release, said the party is working in harmony with its national leadership to strengthen structures across the state and advance its mission of credible, people-focused governance.

The ADC urged members, supporters, and the public to disregard information not issued through its officially recognized channels.
