Alleged Payment Of Bandits: El-Rufai Part Of APC From Inception, ‘Cannot Run Away’ — Baba-Ahmed
Labour Party’s 2023 vice presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has faulted former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai over his claim that the government is paying bandits.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Baba-Ahmed said El-Rufai “cannot run away” from the issue, stressing that he was a founding member of the APC and part of the system that allegedly politicised insecurity.
He accused the ruling APC of using insecurity as a political tool and criticised the Office of the National Security Adviser for dismissing El-Rufai’s remarks.
El-Rufai had alleged that both the Federal and Kaduna State governments were paying as much as ₦1 billion to bandits. The ONSA, Nigerian military, and Kaduna State government have all rejected his claim as false and malicious.
