He attended King’s College, Lagos, one of Nigeria’s prestigious secondary schools, before proceeding to the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom, where he studied Accounting and Finance. Despite pursuing a business oriented academic path, his passion for music remained strong.

 

While studying abroad, Lojay began experimenting with music more seriously. Exposure to different cultures and sounds influenced his musical direction. He developed an interest in blending Afrobeats with R and B, electronic, and alternative elements, aiming to create a sound that felt global yet rooted in African identity.

 

Lojay’s breakthrough came in 2021 when he released the collaborative EP LV N ATTN with Nigerian producer Sarz. The project gained massive attention across Nigeria and internationally. Songs like “Monalisa” became standout hits, with “Monalisa” achieving global success and later receiving a remix featuring American singer Chris Brown. The remix further boosted Lojay’s international recognition and expanded his fan base beyond Africa.

 

The success of LV N ATTN established Lojay as one of the leading voices in Nigeria’s alternative Afrobeats movement. His music is characterized by sensual themes, emotional storytelling, and atmospheric production.
