Young Jonn, whose real name is Udomboso John Saviours, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer widely known for his dynamic influence in Afrobeats. Born on February 16, 1995, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, Young Jonn first rose to fame as a hit making producer before successfully transitioning into a mainstream recording artist.

Growing up in Ibadan, Young Jonn developed an early love for music. He began experimenting with sound production as a teenager, teaching himself how to create beats and mix songs. Inspired by Nigerian music legends and international producers, he became fascinated with the creative process behind hit songs. His passion for production gradually turned into a career path.

Young Jonn studied Communication and Language Arts at the University of Ibadan. While in school, he balanced academics with music production, building his reputation quietly within the industry. His big break came when he started working closely with Olamide, one of Nigeria’s biggest rap artists and founder of YBNL Nation.

As a producer under YBNL, Young Jonn quickly earned the nickname “The Wicked Producer” due to his ability to consistently create chart topping beats. He produced several major hits, including Olamide’s “Story For The Gods” and “Shakiti Bobo.” His production style combined energetic rhythms, catchy hooks, and street friendly vibes, making him one of the most sought after producers in Nigeria.

Over the years, Young Jonn produced songs for top artists such as Lil Kesh, Davido, and Tiwa Savage. His impact on mid 2010s Nigerian pop music was significant, as many of the era’s biggest hits carried his signature sound. His contributions earned him awards and nominations, solidifying his reputation as a leading music producer in Africa.

After years of success behind the scenes, Young Jonn decided to step into the spotlight as a recording artist. In 2021, he signed with Chocolate City Music, marking a new chapter in his career. This move signaled his official transition from producer to full time artist.

His breakout as a singer came with the release of “Dada,” a song that gained widespread attention for its catchy melody and relatable lyrics. The track later received a remix featuring Davido, which further boosted its popularity. Young Jonn followed up with other successful singles like “Xtra Cool” and “Currency,” featuring Olamide. These songs performed strongly on streaming platforms and radio, proving that his talent extended beyond production.

In 2024, he released his debut album Jiggy Forever, a project that showcased his versatility as both a singer and producer. The album blended Afrobeats, pop, and contemporary sounds, reflecting his growth and confidence as a front line artist. The project featured collaborations with notable artists and further cemented his place in the industry.

Young Jonn’s music often focuses on themes of enjoyment, ambition, romance, and street culture. His sound remains energetic and accessible, drawing from his deep understanding of hit making formulas developed during his production years.
