 Early Life and Education

Tiwa Savage was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and later moved to London, United Kingdom,at the age of 11 for her secondary education. While in the UK, she developed a strong passion for music and joined her school’s orchestra band, playing the trombone.

She later studied Business Administration at the University of Kent in the UK. After graduation, she worked briefly in banking but soon followed her heart into music. To sharpen her skills, she attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where she graduated with a degree in Professional Music.

 Music Career

Tiwa Savage started her career as a backup singer for international stars like:

* George Michael
* Mary J. Blige
* Chaka Khan

She also participated in the UK edition of The X Factor,which helped boost her confidence and exposure.

In 2010, Tiwa returned to Nigeria to contribute to the growing Afrobeats industry. She signed with Mavin Records in 2012 under the leadership of Don Jazzy.

Her debut album, 'Once Upon a Time' (2013), was a huge success. It featured hit songs like:
