IN LOVE WITH MY SECRETARY Episode 1

Oluyemi’s POV

I used to believe love was a weakness reserved for men who had nothing else going for them. My life was built on structure, discipline, and results. As the CEO of a thriving logistics company in Lagos, I had no room for distractions—especially emotional ones. Everything in my world had a place, and everyone had a role.

Then Eniola became my secretary.

She walked into my office on her first day with a quiet confidence that caught my attention immediately. No unnecessary smiles, no nervous energy. She greeted me respectfully, placed my schedule on the desk, and waited for instructions. I noticed her efficiency before anything else. Within weeks, my days became smoother, my stress reduced, and my reliance on her increased.

That should have been the end of it.

But slowly, subtly, something shifted. I began to notice how she listened not just to respond, but to understand. How she corrected my mistakes without making me feel challenged. How her presence brought calm into a space that had always felt heavy. I found myself watching her when I should have been working.

I told myself it was nothing. I was just impressed.

Yet I started arriving at the office earlier than usual. I noticed irritation when she laughed with other staff. At night, long after the building emptied, I sat alone wondering when admiration turned into desire. I hated myself for it. A boss had no business wanting his secretary.

And still, I couldn’t stop.

Eniola’s POV

Working for Oluyemi Adewale was never part of my fantasy it was survival. I needed the job, and I knew the rules. Be professional. Be invisible. Do your work and go home. Everyone warned me about him. They said he was proud, emotionally distant, and impossible to impress.

At first, he lived up to the reputation. He barely spoke unless it was work-related. His expressions were controlled, his tone firm. But as weeks passed, I realized he wasn’t unkind just guarded. He listened when I made suggestions. He trusted me with sensitive decisions. Slowly, my fear turned into respect.

Then came the moments I couldn’t explain.

The lingering eye contact. The pauses in conversation that felt heavy with unspoken thoughts. The way he sometimes looked at me like he was trying to understand something unfamiliar. It made me uncomfortable not because I didn’t like it, but because I did.

I began to feel seen. Valued. Important.

That scared me.

One evening, after a long day, I handed him the final file before leaving. Our fingers touched briefly. It was accidental, harmless but my heart reacted as though it meant something. I pulled back quickly, apologizing, even though there was nothing to apologize for.

As I walked out of the office, I tried to convince myself it was nothing. He was my boss. I was his secretary. That was the truth.

But deep down, I knew something had changed.

Whether we admitted it or not, the first line had already been crossed.
