Bauchi Commissioner, Civil Servants Granted ₦100M Bail in ₦400M Terror Financing Case

The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Bauchi State’s Finance Commissioner, Yakubu Adamu, and three civil servants accused of terrorism financing involving ₦400 million. Justice Mohammed Umar set bail at ₦100 million each, requiring two sureties per defendant—one serving permanent secretary and one serving director.

The defendants must also surrender their international passports, remain in Nigeria, and report weekly to the DSS in Bauchi. The case, which had previously seen bail denied over national security concerns, involves allegations that the officials funneled $2.3 million to Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore president Bello Bodejo, who was accused of forming an ethnic militia.

While pleading not guilty, the accused argued that they did not pose a flight risk, leading the court to grant bail. Proceedings have been adjourned to March 26, 2026, as investigations continue.
