Tragedy in Zaria: Mother Allegedly Beats 11-Year-Old Daughter to Death Over Missing ₦100

A heartbreaking incident has shaken residents of Zaria, Kaduna State, after a woman identified as Khadija allegedly beat her 11-year-old daughter, Fadila, to death over a missing ₦100 during the Sallah celebrations.

According to eyewitnesses, Khadija accused Fadila of stealing the money and, in a moment of rage, used a hard object to beat the young girl. Tragically, the brutal assault led to the child’s death.

Neighbors described the mother as often harsh toward Fadila, especially over issues related to street hawking. They claimed this wasn’t the first time she had been violent toward her daughter.

The child’s father, Malam Mustapha Musa, said he was at work when the incident occurred and returned home to the devastating news. Fadila’s body has since been transported to Kano State for burial.

Khadija admitted to the assault, claiming she never intended to kill her daughter but blamed her actions on overwhelming stress.

Local vigilante operatives quickly stepped in and handed her over to the police. Authorities have begun a full investigation into the matter, and calls for justice are growing louder within the community.
