“I’ll Never Leave Portable” — Ashabi Simple Breaks Silence on Marriage Criticism
Omobolarinde Akinyanju, popularly known as Ashabi Simple, has publicly addressed the growing wave of criticism surrounding her relationship with controversial street-pop star Portable (Habeeb Olalomi Badmus).
Speaking during a TikTok live session, Ashabi responded to a range of comments questioning her decision to remain in the marriage despite the couple’s frequent public clashes.
“I can never leave Portable, no matter what people say. I love being in love—I even have to control myself sometimes,” she declared.
The university graduate and mother of two firmly rejected claims that she rushed into marriage or lacked support from her family. She explained that she comes from a loving, monogamous home and never expected to be part of a polygamous setup—but love, she says, led her there.
Ashabi also shut down rumors that she married Portable for fame or financial gain.
“I made millions before I met Portable. I had my own name and brand before our relationship,” she said.
While social media often magnifies their ups and downs, Ashabi’s remarks made one thing clear: behind the headlines is a woman deeply committed to her relationship, regardless of the noise online.
