Ondo Monarch Accuses Tantita Coordinator Asonja of Orchestrating Night Attack, Arson and Death Threats

The Oloja Apadehin of Idepe in Okitipupa, Chief Ayodele Omodogbe, has accused Ondo State Tantita Security Coordinator, Snr. High Chief Idowu Asonja, of leading a violent night attack on his residence, burning down his cooperative finance office, and issuing death threats to him and his family.

In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, the monarch recounted how Asonja allegedly stormed his community with armed men and two soldiers, beat one of his workers, threatened violence, and returned later with more men despite police presence. By 1 a.m., arsonists reportedly set fire to the monarch’s registered cooperative office, destroying records, loan documents, valuables, and about N200,000.

Omodogbe says Asonja openly boasted of the attack in the presence of police officers, who allegedly refused to arrest him due to military backing. He filed a formal complaint and went public after continued death threats.

Tantita Security Services has denied the allegations, describing them as false, fabricated, and orchestrated by individuals involved in illegal oil bunkering who seek to smear Asonja as the company intensifies crackdowns along the coastal corridor.
