  • Don’t Date Just One Man — BBN’s Tacha Counsels Women.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate and media personality, Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has sparked conversations online following her remarks on the Outside the Box podcast.

Speaking on the show, Tacha urged young women not to commit to only one man while dating. According to her, it is safer to keep options open rather than investing everything in a single relationship. “I tell girls, don’t be out there dating just one man. And I’m still saying it outrightly, you need three other boyfriends in your life,” she said.

Clarifying her statement, Tacha noted that she was not encouraging promiscuity but rather advising women to maintain multiple talking stages to avoid disappointment.

“I am not saying sleep with all the boyfriends but at least let it be that there are other people you are talking to, because even that person you’re talking to — they say the heart of man is wicked — so you never really know,” she added.

Her comments have since stirred mixed reactions on social media, with some fans agreeing that it is a protective strategy in modern dating, while others criticized the advice as promoting distrust in relationships.

“In recognition of the welfare of senior officers, the minister announced that any officer retiring from the rank of Deputy Controller/Comptroller/Commandant-General will now receive lifetime salary benefits, a policy graciously approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” a statement signed by DCF PO Abraham, NPRO/Head of Corporate Services, Federal Fire Service, said.

NEC also resolved to integrate technology into routine immunisation and called for urgent release of campaign funds.

  • Anambra Government Bans Writing of Assignments in Textbooks; Calls it Wasteful.

The Anambra State Government has banned writing assignments directly inside textbooks, describing it as wasteful and unsustainable.

Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, announced the directive on Friday during a capacity-building workshop for private school proprietors and teachers at St. John of God Secondary School, Awka. She explained that the move is to make textbooks reusable, especially for younger siblings.

Chuma-Udeh noted the initiative is part of government efforts to reduce financial pressure on families and promote sustainable education, while also stressing that textbooks should reflect inclusivity, diversity, and equality.

She said, “The decision is aimed at making textbooks reusable, especially for younger siblings of pupils who would need them when they advance to the next class. There is also the need for textbooks to be inclusive, reflecting diversity, equality, and the needs of all learners.

The government would not tolerate non-compliance with the directive; parents, teachers, and school administrators are urged to ensure strict adherence.

We also encouraged stakeholders to report cases of defaulters to the Ministry of Education.” The government also announced a clampdown on graduation parties in nursery and primary schools, describing them as unnecessary and exploitative.

She stated, “It has come to the notice of the state government that graduation parties have turned out to be avenue for financial exploitation by some school owners and the government can no longer keep quiet over the issue. Teaching and running a school is a divine call and should not be mortgaged for financial gains.

Indulging in such runs contrarily to the mission and vision of the government as regards making education accessible and equitable for Anambra State school children.”

  • Minneapolis School Shooting: Two Children Dead, Multiple Victims Injured.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara confirmed that two children were killed and 17 wounded in the tragic shooting at Annunciation Catholic School during the first week of classes.

Among the victims were 14 children and three elderly parishioners. O’Hara told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins that the injured are expected to survive, with some already released from the hospital. “They had a range of injuries. One, I believe, was like a graze woumd from a gunshot,” he said.

“All the way to some very, very serious and life-threatening injuries that thankfully they are expected to survive from.” Investigators recovered three legally purchased firearms from the scene. O’Hara confirmed the shooter had recently obtained a state-issued permit to buy firearms.

“I don’t have information about where specifically those weapons were purchased, but they were purchased lawfully,” he noted.

Four search warrants have been executed at the church and three Twin Cities residences linked to the suspect, Robin Westman, 23. Authorities, with help from the FBI, are reviewing seized documents.

O’Hara revealed that Westman released a manifesto on YouTube containing “disturbing writings” and added, “What we’ve seen so far is just a variety of hate.

Right now, we don’t have a clear motive… we’re hopeful that once we are able to go through the scene and all of the evidence that’s collected, that we’ll be able to better provide answers for our community.” Police also said Westman had personal ties to the parish. “We believe that the suspect, at some point, was a student here, or a member of the parish, and that a family member here also worked for the church,” O’Hara explained.

The Minneapolis community is left reeling as investigators work to piece together a motive. While survivors begin their long recovery, officials stress their commitment to uncovering the full truth behind the attack.

In a recent interview, she urged ladies to remain “single until marriage” and avoid tying themselves down unnecessarily.

In her words: “Every girl should be single till they’re actually married, do you understand? It doesn’t mean if you’re in a relationship or two or three. The thing with guys is it’s easier for guys to meet a girl and be like in two weeks we have to get married.

But a girl can’t meet a guy and say in two weeks we have to get married, do you understand what I’m trying to say? So, at the end of the day, it doesn’t make sense for you to be with a guy and tie yourself down and let’s say you’re meeting up with other people and you’re telling them I’m in a relationship and can’t date you.

Don’t let your boyfriend stop you from meeting your husband. Even if I was in a relationship I would still say I’m single until I’m married.”
