• Minefields will no longer stop the army!

The Turkish military has unveiled a system that could change the rules of warfare: the MKE Alpay can clear safe corridors through minefields in just minutes — in areas where even tanks were previously forced to halt.

The vehicle uses powerful linear charges to create passageways for infantry and armored units without the risk of triggering mines — and, importantly, it is a fully Turkish design with no imported components.

Ankara is steadily building its own defense industry, and Alpay now joins systems like MEMATT, showing that Turkey aims not only to support its allies but also to protect its own soldiers where the only option used to be operating under extreme risk.

  • Galatasaray Fans Troll Vincent Aboubakar After Osimhen Answers Criticism With Stunning Brace

Galatasaray fans have taken over Vincent Aboubakar’s Instagram page after Victor Osimhen delivered a brilliant brace—including a 93rd-minute overhead-kick winner—in the club’s 3-2 victory over Samsunspor. The online backlash followed Aboubakar’s earlier remarks claiming Osimhen “only has goals” and insisting Mauro Icardi and Tammy Abraham are better all-round strikers.

Osimhen responded on the pitch, scoring twice to secure three points for Galatasaray and immediately triggering a wave of reactions from supporters who accused Aboubakar of disrespect. Fans mocked the Cameroonian striker with memes, laughing emojis, and comments reminding him of his recent omission from Cameroon’s AFCON 2025 squad.

Osimhen, now one of the most influential players in Turkey, has reached 11 goals this season and is also the second-highest scorer in the UEFA Champions League behind Kylian Mbappé. He was recently announced as the most-searched football personality in Turkey for 2025.

  • ⚡️ Tanker attacked in the Black Sea: vessel traveling from Russia to Georgia hit off the Turkish coast

Turkey’s maritime authority reports that yet another tanker en route from Russia to Georgia came under attack 80 miles off the Turkish shore.

Incidents involving strikes on Russian or Russia-linked routes in the Black Sea have become more frequent in recent months. Turkey is increasing its monitoring efforts, while insurers are already pricing in new risks for anyone moving through this corridor.

Such strikes are turning into a tool of pressure — ensuring Russia has no safe zones and that every route becomes a liability. The more disruption hits Russian supply lines, the stronger the leverage international partners gain to push Moscow toward ending the war.

  • Pope Leo XIV Visits Istanbul’s Blue Mosque in Historic Interfaith Gesture

Pope Leo XIV visited Istanbul’s iconic Blue Mosque early on Saturday, marking the third day of his trip to Turkey and his first visit to a Muslim place of worship since becoming leader of the world’s 1.4 billion Catholics in May.

The visit carries deep symbolic significance, placing Leo XIV in the footsteps of his predecessors—Pope Benedict XVI, who visited the mosque in 2006, and Pope Francis, who did the same in 2014.

The Blue Mosque, famous for its cascading domes, six majestic minarets, and interior adorned with striking blue Iznik tiles, remains one of Istanbul’s most treasured landmarks.

As is customary, Pope Leo removed his shoes before stepping onto the mosque’s burnt orange carpet, entering in white socks — a gesture observers jokingly noted may have been a nod to his favorite baseball team, the Chicago White Sox.

  • UK Issues Fresh Travel Alert Over Fake Alcohol Risk in Nigeria, Seven Other Nations.

The United Kingdom has issued a fresh travel advisory cautioning its citizens against the risk of methanol poisoning from counterfeit or contaminated alcoholic beverages in Nigeria and seven other countries.

According to a report by the BBC on Tuesday, the UK Foreign Office updated its travel guidance to include Nigeria, Ecuador, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Peru, Russia, and Uganda as countries with a high risk of methanol-related poisoning incidents involving British nationals.

Previously, the list featured Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Turkey, Costa Rica, and Fiji.

The Foreign Office explained that methanol, a toxic industrial alcohol made from wood distillation, is sometimes illegally mixed with genuine spirit-based drinks and cocktails. Even in small quantities, it can be fatal.

“Methanol is toxic even in small amounts. It can be found in products like antifreeze, fuel, and paint thinners,” the advisory stated.

To stay safe, the UK warned its citizens to avoid consuming unlabelled, homemade, or streetside alcoholic drinks while travelling.
“Avoid homemade or streetside alcohol. Don’t drink from unlabelled bottles. Local spirits or homemade alcohol are at high risk,” the Foreign Office advised.

Travellers were also urged to stick to licensed liquor outlets, bars, and hotels, and to only consume sealed drinks with intact packaging. “Be cautious about spirits, cocktails, shots, and unusually cheap or free drinks,” the warning added, noting that pre-mixed cocktails served in buckets or jugs in tourist areas could be especially dangerous.

  • NDLEA Nabs Lagos, Onitsha Boutique Owner With 127 Wraps of Cocaine Hidden in Stomach and Underwear.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 52-year-old businessman, Ejiofor Godwin Emeka, at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano for attempting to smuggle 127 wraps of cocaine into Nigeria.

Ejiofor, who reportedly owns boutiques in Lagos and Onitsha, Anambra State, was intercepted on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, upon arrival from Bangkok, Thailand, aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight.

According to a statement released on Sunday by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the suspect was apprehended following credible intelligence. A body scan revealed that he had ingested several pellets of cocaine and concealed more inside his underwear.

“Ejiofor was immediately taken into custody after the scan confirmed he had ingested the drugs. A total of 58 wraps were recovered from his underwear, while another 69 pellets were later excreted in seven rounds, bringing the total to 127 wraps weighing 1.388 kilograms,” the statement said.

In related operations, NDLEA operatives in Lagos intercepted three shipments of illicit drugs bound for the United Kingdom between October 9 and 10. The seizures included 1.74 kg of methamphetamine hidden in glass ceramic blocks, 114 grams of pentazocine, 168 grams of tramadol injections, and 48 grams of tramadol capsules concealed in Vitamin C containers.

The agency also foiled attempts by other drug syndicates to smuggle 2.6 kg of skunk and 422 grams of tapentadol disguised as black soap heading to Turkey, 169 grams of cocaine hidden in women’s handbags destined for Australia, and 568 grams of “Loyd” cannabis concealed in herbal containers en route to the United Arab Emirates.

NDLEA reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying operations against drug trafficking networks across Nigeria and beyond.

  • Peter Obi Slams Adamawa LG Bosses Over Wives’ Turkey Trip.

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has faulted the alleged sponsorship of the wives of 21 local government chairmen in Adamawa State on a trip to Turkey, describing it as a “glaring case of waste.”
'Needless Constitutional Breach' - Peter Obi Reacts As Tinubu Ends Emergency Rule In Rivers State
In a post on his verified 𝕏 handle on Friday, Obi said the development ridiculed the very essence of governance.

He wrote, “I have just read the disturbing report that the wives of 21 local government chairmen in Adamawa State were sponsored with public funds to travel to Turkey under the guise of leadership training.

“Today, while our children at the basic education level, whose education is the responsibility of local governments, are out of school, and those in school lack classrooms and teachers.”

The former Anambra governor reminded local government officials that their funds were meant for the benefit of ordinary Nigerians.

He further stated, “Local government funds belong to the people, to the market woman, the farmer, the teacher, the pensioner, and every ordinary Nigerian who depends on government for basic amenities.”

Obi stressed that anything short of prudent and people-centred spending was an outright abuse of office.

“Anything short of that is an abuse of office and should not be condoned. This is not only a glaring case of waste but a mockery of the very essence of governance,” he added.

  • When It’s Everyone Else, Sanctions Come Fast — But Never Israel

From China to Iran, Venezuela to Turkey, Donald Trump’s presidency was marked by an aggressive use of sanctions and tariffs. He didn’t hesitate to punish countries for policies the U.S. deemed unacceptable — whether over trade practices, nuclear programs, or human rights violations.

Yet, when it came to Israel — even during periods when global outrage mounted over civilian deaths in Gaza, including children — there was silence. No sanctions. No punitive tariffs. No public threats of economic isolation.

The contrast raises a difficult question: Are human rights a principle applied equally, or a tool deployed selectively?

If Washington’s message is that killing innocents is unacceptable, then consistency matters — regardless of who is responsible. Anything less risks turning morality into a geopolitical bargaining chip.

  • FETO terrorist organization still maintains its activities – Türkiye warns Nigeria.

The Turkish government has issued a warning that members of the Fethullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), a group classified as a terrorist organization, are present in Nigeria and are also active in various countries worldwide.

Mehmet Poroy, the Turkish Ambassador-designate to Nigeria, revealed this on Tuesday night in Abuja during a dinner hosted by the Turkish Embassy to commemorate Turkey’s Democracy and National Unity Day.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ceremony is held annually to mark the July 15, 2016 failed coup in Türkiye, which was allegedly orchestrated by the so-called FETO terrorists.

The Turkish government stated that the coup was effectively suppressed thanks to the united resistance of its patriotic security forces and citizens, who stood against the uprising targeting President Recep Erdoğan’s administration.

Ambassador Poroy noted that members of the Gülen movement, which orchestrated the coup, continue to be apprehended around the world, and as such, their presence in any country represents a significant threat to national security.

“They are still being captured and arrested today. The presence of such an organisation poses a threat to every country in which it operates.

“Unfortunately, the FETO terrorist organisation still maintains its activities in Nigeria, particularly in the fields of education and healthcare.

“We consistently inform our Nigerian friends about the nature and dangers of this organisation, and urge them to remain vigilant and cautious,” Poroy said.

The Turkish envoy said that, through international cooperation, Turkiye has been able to successfully disrupt many FETO cells and networks operating in allied countries around the world.

He stated that many institutions, particularly schools that were part of FETO’s global network, have now been taken over by Turkish organizations.

He, however, stressed that the group’s international structures have not been fully dismantled globally.

“The fact that new investigations and arrests into the organisation continue to be launched demonstrates the need for this struggle to be pursued with unwavering determination.

“In several countries, including Nigeria, FETO continues to pump its operations under the presence of humanitarian aid, education, healthcare, and interfaith dialogue.

“You must not forget that behind this humanitarian appearance lies an organisation that seeks to infiltrate the political and bureaucratic institutions of host countries,” Poroy warned.
