Hundreds of youths in Abraka, Delta State, protested on Saturday after operatives of Operation Delta Sweep allegedly shot dead a pregnant woman while chasing suspected internet fraudsters. Witnesses said the woman was hit by a stray bullet and confirmed dead at Eku General Hospital. The protesters blocked roads, set tyres ablaze, and demanded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori sack the state’s Director-General on Security Matters, David Tonwe, accusing him of incompetence and misuse of the outfit.
