Niger Assembly Seeks Renovation of Fire-Damaged School of Health Technology
The Niger State House of Assembly has urged the state government to urgently renovate the School of Health Technology, Tungan Magajiya, Rijau LGA, after a July 29 fire destroyed major parts of the institution.
Hon. Bello Bako, representing Rijau Constituency, moved the motion, stressing the need for reconstruction and replacement of lost properties.
Meanwhile, the Assembly adopted a report by its Committee on Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, which flagged poor revenue generation, overreliance on statutory allocations, and procurement violations across the state’s 25 LGAs.
Speaker Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkindaji directed that the recommendations be forwarded to the executive for action.
