• Ayurvedic Detoxification Techniques: The Science of Panchakarma
In today’s fast-paced world, it's easy to overlook what our body tries to tell us. Fatigue, digestive issues, bloating, poor sleep, brain fog, and low immunity—these are often signs that the body is overloaded with toxins. Ayurveda, India’s ancient healing system, believes that health begins with cleansing the body and mind from accumulated impurities, also known as Ama. One of the most powerful detoxification methods in Ayurveda is Panchakarma—a structured therapeutic process that restores balance, removes toxins, and rejuvenates the body from the cellular level.
Understanding Toxins in Ayurveda
Before diving into Panchakarma, it's important to understand Ama, the Ayurvedic concept of toxins. Ama forms when our Agni (digestive fire) becomes weak due to irregular eating, unhealthy food choices, lack of sleep, stress, or exposure to chemicals. Over time, these toxins clog body channels (srotas), disrupt dosha balance, and give rise to illness. Ayurvedic detoxification is not just about weight loss or cleansing the stomach—it is about purifying the entire body system and restoring harmony.

What Is Panchakarma?
The term Panchakarma translates to “five actions” or “five therapies”. These therapies are designed to eliminate deep-seated toxins from the tissues and expel them from the body in a controlled, scientific way. Panchakarma is unique because it doesn’t just detox the gut—it addresses toxins in every tissue layer, bringing equilibrium to Vata, Pitta, and Kapha doshas.
Three Phases of Panchakarma Detox
Panchakarma is not a single treatment—it’s a carefully planned healing journey that happens in three phases:
1. Purva Karma (Preparation Phase)
This step prepares the body to release toxins.
Snehana (Internal and External Oleation): Herbal oils or ghee are used to loosen toxins stored in tissues.

Swedana (Herbal Steam Therapy): Steam and herbs help liquefy toxins and move them toward the digestive tract for elimination.

2. Pradhana Karma (Main Detox Procedures)
This phase includes the five core cleansing techniques:
Technique
Procedure
Target
Vamana
Therapeutic emesis
Removes excess Kapha and mucus from chest/stomach
Virechana
Controlled purgation
Cleanses liver and intestines, reduces Pitta
Basti
Medicated enemas
Balances Vata and nourishes colon
Nasya
Herbal drops in nostrils
Clears head, sinuses, improves mental clarity
Rakta Mokshana
Blood cleansing
Removes toxins from blood, improves immunity

3. Paschat Karma (Rejuvenation Phase)
After detox, the body needs nourishment and stability. This includes:
Diet correction (Pathya): Light, healing foods to rebuild digestion

Rasayana (Rejuvenative herbs): Ashwagandha, Shatavari, Amla for strength and vitality

Lifestyle guidance: Daily routines to maintain detox benefits

Benefits of Panchakarma
Panchakarma offers a complete reset for body and mind. Some proven benefits include:
Improves digestion and metabolism
Enhances nutrient absorption
Boosts immunity and vitality
Supports hormonal balance
Reduces chronic fatigue and stress
Relieves joint and muscle stiffness
Clears skin and improves glow
Promotes mental clarity and emotional balance
Addresses chronic conditions like arthritis, sinusitis, IBS, and migraines
Panchakarma Is Personalized Medicine
One of the biggest strengths of Panchakarma is that it is highly personalized. Unlike generic detox programs, Ayurvedic detox is planned after analyzing:
Your dominant Dosha

Prakriti (body constitution)

Health condition

Age and strength

Season and lifestyle

That’s why Panchakarma must be done under trained Ayurvedic supervision. Self-detox without guidance may disturb dosha balance rather than help it.
Simple Daily Detox According to Ayurveda
If full Panchakarma therapy is not feasible, you can incorporate small Ayurvedic detox habits daily:
Begin mornings with warm water and lemon or ginger

Include Triphala at night for gentle colon cleansing

Use turmeric and cumin in cooking for natural detox

Eat fresh, cooked meals instead of packaged or reheated food

Avoid overeating and late-night meals

Practice oil pulling to detox the mouth

Take 10–15 minutes of self-abhyanga (oil massage) weekly

Practice pranayama or meditation to detox the mind

Final Thought
The beauty of Panchakarma lies not only in cleansing the body but also in rejuvenating the spirit. It teaches that detoxification is not just about fasting or flushing—it’s about restoring balance, enhancing energy, and reconnecting with natural health. As lifestyle diseases keep rising, this ancient detox science offers a soothing yet powerful path to holistic wellbeing.
If done with discipline and the right guidance, Panchakarma can transform your health from the inside out—naturally and sustainably.

• Pokémon Legends: Z-A Hidden Mega Pokémon Locations
If you’ve been exploring Lumiose City and the surrounding regions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you might have noticed something curious—certain Pokémon feel a bit too powerful, even for regular Alpha encounters. That’s because Mega Evolutions are making a return in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but not in the way you’d expect. Many Mega Pokémon aren’t given to you through story progression; they’re hidden across the map, waiting for trainers who know where to look.

Below is a guide to help you uncover these elusive Mega Pokémon and make the most out of your exploration.

1. Mega Lucario – Tower Ruins in Central Lumiose

Mega Lucario can be found deep within the old Tower Ruins area, a zone that unlocks after completing a few Lumiose City missions. Look for aura flares at night—they hint at Lucario’s meditative spot. You’ll need a high friendship with your own Riolu or Lucario to trigger the encounter. Bring a few strong Poké Balls and patience, because this Mega form is tough to weaken without fainting it.

2. Mega Gardevoir – Café District Secret Room

Head to the Café District and complete a side quest involving a mysterious musician. Once done, you’ll gain access to a hidden room behind the café stage. Mega Gardevoir spawns during early morning hours in-game, surrounded by psychic energy effects. It’s a graceful yet powerful opponent, so prepare your team accordingly.

3. Mega Charizard X – Ashen Volcano Region

One of the most cinematic encounters in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Mega Charizard X appears near the peak of the Ashen Volcano after you complete the regional research on Fire-type Pokémon. Watch for a short cutscene hinting at the “dragon of black flame.” You’ll need fire-resistant gear and plenty of healing items. Trainers often stock up before this fight—if you’re short on materials, you can always buy Pokémon ZA items in-game to prepare for the encounter.

4. Mega Gyarados – The Sunken Docks

The Sunken Docks area can be accessed after unlocking aquatic traversal Pokémon. Dive deep into the ruins, and you’ll eventually find a whirlpool guarded by a glowing red Gyarados. To battle it in its Mega form, you’ll first need to calm the storm by completing a side mission given by a dockworker NPC. Water- and Electric-type Pokémon work best for this encounter.

5. Mega Absol – Forgotten Forest at Twilight

Mega Absol’s location is among the trickiest to reach. You’ll need to visit the Forgotten Forest during twilight hours, when the mist is thickest. The encounter only triggers if you have a pure Dark-type Pokémon leading your team. This battle is as much about timing as it is about preparation. Many players who want to catch it efficiently look for cheap Legends ZA Pokémon to round out their party with the right counters before heading into the forest.

6. Bonus Tip: Hidden Mega Stones

To trigger Mega Evolutions, you’ll need the appropriate Mega Stones. They can be found scattered across Lumiose City, often hidden in abandoned alleys, rooftops, or near major landmarks. Keep your scanning gadget on at all times—it emits a faint glow when a Mega Stone is nearby. Some stones may even appear as mission rewards for completing high-difficulty requests.

The Mega Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A add a whole new layer of strategy to exploration. Each encounter feels like a mini-legend of its own, encouraging you to explore every inch of the map. Whether you’re hunting for Mega Lucario in ancient ruins or braving the Ashen Volcano for Mega Charizard X, these challenges are some of the most rewarding moments in the game.

Take your time, prepare your team well, and don’t forget—sometimes the key to victory lies in how you approach each encounter, not just how powerful your Pokémon are.

• Senator Orji Uzor Kalu Alleges Some Nigerian Pilots Smoke Indian Hemp Before Flights, Calls for Urgent Regulatory Action.

Former Abia State governor and Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, has sparked concern over alleged drug use among Nigerian pilots, claiming that some smoke Indian hemp before flying passengers.

Speaking during Wednesday’s plenary session, Kalu urged aviation regulators to take immediate action to safeguard travelers, accusing agencies of negligence and poor oversight.
“The agencies overseeing these pilots are not doing enough. I’ve personally refused to board a flight because the pilot didn’t seem normal. Some of them smoke Indian hemp yes, it’s true,” he said.

He faulted aviation authorities such as the NCAA and NEMA for failing to conduct proper medical and drug assessments. “Pilots walk into the cockpit without anyone checking their blood pressure or drug level. There’s no on-the-spot testing. It’s dangerous,” he warned.

Kalu recounted once stopping a flight over concerns about a pilot’s condition and urged the Minister of Aviation to step up supervision. “Some take Indian hemp like cigarettes. If you go close, you can smell it,” he alleged.

His remarks come weeks after the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) reportedly said two Air Peace pilots tested positive for alcoqAzqdqazqhol and cannabis following a July 2025 runway incident at Port Harcourt International Airport.

Air Peace, however, dismissed the claim, saying no crew member tested positive and that the airline enforces a zero-tolerance policy on substance use. “Our crew were tested within an hour, and all results were negative,” the airline stated.

• NEMA advises Edo flood-prone residents to relocate upland as River Niger rises.

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Edo State office has issued a riot act to residents living at the bank of the River Niger in the state to relocate to higher grounds.

The Head of Benin Operation Office, Kenoma Ojuederie gave the charge during the customers week celebration in Benin City.

Ojuederie said the charge became necessary following the rising level of water on the River Niger and to also avoid loss of lives.

According to him, before now, we have done sensitisation and awareness campaigns to communities in flood-prone areas to get prepared and move to higher ground.

“From now on, we are expecting the flood because water has been released from some dams, and floods are going to come due to the release of water from dams.

“So, as part of measures to avoid casualties, I advised the residents to move to higher ground while those in the area where there are IDP camps should move there and the state government would cater for those in the camp,” he said.

He added that the customers’ week was to appreciate people in emergency management who are victims of disasters and stakeholders.

Earlier, the Edo State Executive Secretary, State Management Agency, SEMA, Jerry Idahosa, explained that the water is already rising, but there is no cause for alarm yet.

• Soyinka honoured as Tinubu unveils N68bn refurbished national theatre.

In a ceremony that also marked Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, the National Arts Theatre in Iganmu was officially recommissioned on 1 October 2025 and renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, following a multi-year public–private restoration.

The restored complex, whose silhouette has been preserved while its interiors were transformed, now houses world-class performance halls, cinema spaces, exhibition galleries, an African literature library, rehearsal rooms, media and medical facilities, landscaped grounds, and direct integration with the Lagos Blue Line rail.

Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, said the project was delivered through an extraordinary partnership between the Central Bank, the Bankers’ Committee, the Federal Government, and the Lagos State Government. He noted that the Bankers’ Committee committed approximately ₦68 billion to the project, framing the funding as a deliberate investment in the nation’s cultural future rather than a mere act of corporate social responsibility.

“This is more than a renovation; it is a rebirth,” Mr Cardoso said, adding that the centre must be protected to prevent a return to years of neglect.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State described the reopening as a homecoming for a city that hosted FESTAC ’77. He said the state played a key role by ensuring a dedicated Blue Line stop and contributing additional land to expand the creative hub. “Today’s commissioning is only the beginning,” he said, urging that the complex become a focal point for artistic excellence and urban renewal.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who performed the commissioning, urged Nigerians to speak positively about the country and to “lift Nigeria” by believing in its potential. The President also pledged to contribute to an endowment fund to guarantee maintenance, accessibility, and job creation at the centre.

Professor Wole Soyinka, who expressed mixed feelings about having his name affixed to a public monument, accepted the honour and reflected on the theatre’s storied past, from its 1976 completion and FESTAC ’77 glory to the decades of decline that preceded the restoration. “If a group of bankers got together, using some of my money also… in order to honour me, what’s wrong with that?” he joked, before urging that the centre serve future generations of artists.

Officials and cultural stakeholders lauded the project as a tangible union of culture and commerce, an effort to harness Nigeria’s creative industries for jobs, revenue, and soft power. With renewed facilities and a declared commitment to upkeep, the Wole Soyinka Centre is being positioned as a national landmark intended to keep Nigeria’s creative voice on the global stage.

A three-storey building collapsed late Friday at 333 Borno Street, Alagomeji, Yaba, Lagos State, leaving one person dead and several others trapped.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed on Saturday that the body of a male victim was recovered from the rubble. Four other people have so far been rescued alive and are in stable condition.

Rescue operations, led by NEMA, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), and the Fire Service, are ongoing amid speculation that at least two more people remain trapped.

“Emergency officials have cordoned off the site to ensure safety and smooth rescue operations,” NEMA said in its incident update.

Authorities warned that the casualty figure could rise as search-and-rescue efforts continue through the night.

The Yaba collapse adds to the recurring cases of building failures in Lagos, often blamed on poor construction practices, use of substandard materials, and weak regulatory enforcement.

• U.S. Justice Dept. Releases Maxwell Interview Transcripts After Backlash

The U.S. Justice Department has released transcripts of interviews with Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s former girlfriend, after criticism over withheld records in the sex-trafficking case.

The transcripts reveal Maxwell recalling possible meetings with Donald Trump in the 1990s through her father, media mogul Robert Maxwell.

Maxwell, convicted in 2021 of helping Epstein lure underage girls, is serving a 20-year sentence and was recently transferred from a Florida federal prison to a Texas facility.

The release follows mounting backlash over the Trump administration’s handling of the case, after earlier refusals to disclose documents fuelled conspiracy theories about a hidden “client list.”

Epstein, a financier with ties to global elites, died by suicide in jail in 2019 while facing sex-trafficking charges.
