  • “Nigerians Are Hypocrites” — Tacha doubles down, slams selective outrage over cyberbullying and arrests following content creator Lawrence Alabi'

Reality TV star and media personality Tacha has reacted again following the online drama surrounding cyberbullying, arrests, and public humiliation, and she is not holding back.

In a lengthy post on X, Tacha made it clear that she does not support bullying, cyberbullying, cyberstalking, or defamation in any form. She stressed that she has nothing against Lawrence Alabi or his wife, describing Alabi’s wife as “an amazing woman” who does not deserve daily trolling.

However, Tacha turned the spotlight on what she described as Nigeria’s biggest problem online: hypocrisy.

According to her, many Nigerians only call out oppression or corruption when it doesn’t benefit them or when the victim isn’t someone they like.

She pointed out that she has personally taken people to court in the past without turning police stations into content factories or humiliating anyone online.

“I did not make one video. I did not take one picture. Because I am not the law,” she said, explaining that she followed due process quietly.

Tacha also questioned why Nigerians suddenly act shocked when popular figures use legal means, even though many influencers built their platforms off trolling, dragging, and pushing harmful agendas.

She cited the backlash actress Toyin Abraham faced after arresting someone who allegedly trolled her family, noting how Nigerians quickly framed it as “oppression” simply because they don’t like her.

Her final stance was clear and firm:
Use the law if you must — but don’t add public humiliation to it.

“You cannot do this in the UK, even with a billion pounds,” she said, urging Nigerians to be guided and consistent with their outrage.

Once again, Tacha has reignited a bigger conversation about accountability, bullying culture, and selective morality on Nigerian social media.

  • Media personality Osi Suave says this may be the last detty december in Nigeria as rising costs is killing the fun

Media personality Osi Suave has shared his frustration over what he believes is the gradual collapse of detty december.

According to him, what used to be a fun and organic end-of-year culture has now been ruined by greed and over-commercialisation. Osi revealed that he has organised December concerts since 2018 but chose to sit out this year because costs have tripled while ticket sales are no longer enough to cover expenses.

He pointed out that almost everyone is now trying to cash out from December — from opening lounges and clubs to renting properties at inflated prices — all geared towards detty december profits.

In his words, the overload of businesses and excessive pricing has sucked the joy out of what once worked naturally.

“Congrats to everyone involved,” he added.

  • JAPA: If you’re earning a good salary in Nigeria, it’s better to stay than move the U.K for a job you’ll despise — DJ DSF

On a recent episode of Jay On Air Podcast, media personality Ms DSF shed light on the realities of working abroad, cautioning that not all opportunities overseas are as lucrative as they appear.

“People think you’re abroad and you’re making pounds. They could be abroad doing a cleaner job, making however much per hour. You probably have better opportunities here in Nigeria,” she said, stressing that a good salary at home may outweigh taking a job abroad that one dislikes.

Ms DSF highlighted the high cost of living in the UK, noting, “Do you know how much rent is in the UK? Do you know how much public transport is there? Before you even make your salary, let’s say you’re doing cleaner work or driving a taxi.”

Sharing a personal example, she recounted her father’s experience: “When my dad first went, he was a taxi driver. Imagine what he was making while trying to take care of his whole family me, my brother, all my siblings, my mum. He was working 9 to 5, then 5 to 9… taxi driver, security, accountant just to make a little money.”

Ms DSF concluded by acknowledging that earning abroad can be appealing but comes with challenges: “I get it, like if you make it in the UK it’s great because pounds are stronger and it’s nice to make pounds, but it’s not like that you really have to hustle to build your way up.”

  • "Over 200k people are living with HIV in Rivers state"— Nedu’s podcast guest says, as they raise awareness about the high HIV rate in Lagos.

A recent episode of The Clarity Zone Podcast hosted by media personality Nedu Wazobia sparked conversations online after a guest opened up about the growing concern of HIV/AIDS in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria.

Speaking on the show, the guest highlighted the alarming statistics of HIV prevalence across several states, naming Rivers, Benue, Akwa Ibom, and Anambra as some of the states with the highest number of people living with the virus.

“Rivers State has over 200k. The next is Akwa Ibom with over 100k, and funny enough, Anambra State also has about 100k,” the guest said.

The speaker, also discussed efforts being made to promote awareness and connection among people living with the virus, citing the idea of ‘positive bondship’ a space where HIV-positive individuals can meet and build relationships safely.

“We’re trying so hard to curb it, that’s why we have positive bondship that’s why if you’re HIV positive, you can meet your fellow HIV positive. But on this part of the Island, people just believe because I’m positive doesn’t mean I cannot be with who’s negative,” the guest added.

They went on to address the widespread stigma and denial surrounding HIV, noting that many Nigerians, including influential figures, live with the virus in silence.

“A lot of people are in denial. Some of them are like, ‘Anything can kill a man, no be to die?’ Even our politicians, some of them are like that they are HIV positive. Most times people don’t know,” the guest said.

The emotional confession has stirred discussions on social media, with many praising the speaker’s courage to break the silence on a topic often treated as taboo in Nigeria.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has shared an inspiring story about how a brief encounter with a young man on a commercial flight years ago turned into a life-changing act of generosity.

Speaking during a recent event, Akpabio narrated that while he was serving as a governor and frequently flying on commercial aircraft, a young man who had always wanted to meet him finally got the chance when he was assigned as part of the flight crew on one of his trips.

“At about 35,000 feet, he came dressed in his uniform and said to me, ‘Your Excellency, if this plane should crash now, some of you will die as rich men, and some of us will die as poor men,’” Akpabio recalled. “I asked him, ‘How do you want to die as a rich man or a poor man?’ He said, ‘I’d like to die as a rich man.’”

The Senate President said the young man then explained that he had gained admission into an aviation school in the United States but could not afford the fees.

“When we landed, I told him to leave the aircraft and follow me,” Akpabio said. “According to him, not from my mouth, the first money I gave him was about $85,000. Later, he brought two of his friends, and I did the same for them. Their lives changed completely.”

“Someone stumbled on the video on Instagram and brought it to show me,” Akpabio added. “If he is listening to me tonight, tell him I would like to see him so that I can pay him back some of the money.”

“I asked him, ‘How do you want to die as a rich man or a poor man?’ He said, ‘I’d like to die as a rich man.’” The Senate President said the young man then explained that he had gained admission into an aviation school in the United States but could not afford the fees. “When we landed, I told him to leave the aircraft and follow me,” Akpabio said. “According to him, not from my mouth, the first money I gave him was about $85,000. Later, he brought two of his friends, and I did the same for them. Their lives changed completely.” Akpabio noted that the young man, who is now doing very well and has a family, recently shared the story in an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze. “Someone stumbled on the video on Instagram and brought it to show me,” Akpabio added. “If he is listening to me tonight, tell him I would like to see him so that I can pay him back some of the money.”
