Veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker Lere Paimo, popularly known as Eda Onile Ola, has accused the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, and movie director Ben Ayoola of attempting to remake his classic film Ogbori Elemoso without his consent. Speaking at a press conference in Ibadan, Paimo described the move as intellectual property theft, alleging intimidation, coercion and disregard for legal warnings. He said he rejected a ₦7.5 million payment sent by the filmmakers and has issued a cease-and-desist letter through his lawyer. The filmmaker appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde and other influential Nigerians to intervene, warning that powerful interests are trying to strip him of a legacy meant for him and his children.
