Hunting Turn Tragedy: Oyo Police Nab Hunter Wey Allegedly Shoot Him Partner Die for Forest

Serious wahala don happen for Moniya, Ibadan, as Oyo Police arrest one hunter, Waheed Rasaki (35), for allegedly shooting him fellow hunter, Femi Oyedepo, during hunting expedition.

According to police, the incident happen for Oretan Ijaiye forest, Akinyele LGA on January 7, 2026. Rasaki later report himself to police, claiming say the shooting na accident. Police talk say after the gunshot, Oyedepo slump die for ground. Officers rush go scene, see the body and take Rasaki into custody, as investigation don start.

For another matter, police also confirm say dem arrest one Olatunji Segun over the killing of a student of Michael Adeniyi Koleoso Polytechnic, Saki. Trouble start during student fight for Challenge 1 area, where one student chop bullet for back and later die for hospital. One used cartridge was recovered.

Nigerians rejoice as FIRS reveals plans to Launch New Tax Reform Acts in November.

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) will officially launch the Nigeria Tax Reform Acts on Monday, November 10, 2025, during a stakeholder session themed “Impact of the New Tax Laws.”

The event marks a key step in Nigeria’s drive to build a fairer and more efficient tax system that encourages compliance, investment, and sustainable growth.

According to FIRS, the session will gather policymakers, tax experts, civil society groups, and private-sector leaders to review the framework of the new laws and their impact on national development.

Speakers include Taiwo Oyedele, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms; Ifueko Omoigui-Okauru, former FIRS Chair; Matthew Gbonjubola, Coordinating Director at FIRS; and Tayo Koleoso, Chief of Staff.

FIRS Director of Taxpayer Services, Dr. Lovette Ononuga, said the engagement will deepen public understanding and promote cooperation for smooth implementation. She added that the reforms will cut multiple taxes, simplify processes, and improve transparency to ease the burden on individuals and businesses.

FIRS hopes the new Acts will strengthen accountability and modernize Nigeria’s tax system to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
