• Nicolas Cage Threw Lisa Marie Presley’s $65K Engagement Ring Into the Ocean During Epic Fight

Nicolas Cage’s handling of treasured jewelry might make Titanic look tame… and far less dramatic.

Back in the early 2000s, the Face/Off star was married to Lisa Marie Presley, a union famously plagued by fiery arguments — and now one of their legendary fights has been revealed in detail.

In her new memoir, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, Priscilla Presley recounts a shocking moment involving her late daughter’s engagement ring. The 80-year-old describes the “stunning six-carat, $65,000 diamond” Cage had given Lisa Marie. But instead of sparkling happily on her hand, the ring ended up at the bottom of the ocean.

“One afternoon, they went sailing off the coast of Catalina Island on Nick’s yacht, the Weston,” Priscilla writes. “Something set off another of their epic fights, and Lisa pulled off her engagement ring and threw it at Nick.”

    Cage, enraged, didn’t hold back.

“Furious, Nick threw the ring overboard,” Priscilla continues.

Though Cage reportedly regretted the act almost immediately, and even sent divers to search the waters, the ring was never recovered. “As far as I know, the ring is still there,” she notes.

Of course, when you’re a Hollywood star, you can replace pricey jewelry on a whim. Cage gifted Lisa Marie an even bigger diamond — ten carats — and the couple got engaged all over again.

The pair married in 2002 but called it quits the same year, finalizing their divorce in 2004. After hearing tales like this, their split seems less surprising.

For adventurous divers, though… a lost six-carat diamond might still be waiting somewhere off Catalina Island.
