#UPDATE Donald Trump and Xi Jinping agreed on Thursday to calm the trade war between China and the United States that has roiled global markets, with Washington cutting some tariffs and Beijing committing to keep supplies of critical rare earths.

The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, a key logistics network connecting China's western regions to global markets, transported 960,000 TEUs of goods via intermodal rail-sea train service in 2024, up 283 times compared with that in 2017 when the service was launched. The corridor's annual transport volume via the service has exceeded 1 million TEUs for the first time as of September 4.
