• Former AGF Malami and two others to be remanded in Kuje

    The Federal High Court Abuja Division has adjourned to the 7th of January, 2026 to rule on the bail application filed by former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN and two others.

    Malami is standing trial alongside two others for alleged money laundering and illicit possession of assets valued at more than eight billion naira.

    After hearing both parties the court adjourned the case to Wednesday next week to rule on the bail application.

    Meanwhile, Justice Nwite has granted bail to the Bauchi State Finance Commissioner, Yakubu Adamu.

    The defendant, along with one Ayab Agro Products Company, face charges of alleged conspiracy, and laundering of 4.65 Billion Naira.

    He pleads not guilty to the charge.

    The court granted him bail of five hundred million naira and two sureties, who must provide landed property in Gwarinpa, Maitama or Asokoro, Abuja.

    The defendant is remain in Kuje Correctional custody till his bail is perfected.

    The matter is adjourned to 23rd January, 2026 for continuation of trial.

  • Court okays DSS medical facility for Nnamdi Kanu.

    The Federal High Court Abuja has okayed the Department of State Services, DSS, medical facility for Nnamdi Kanu’s medical care.

    This is even as the court told the detained leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, he has until 30th October to close his defense.

    One of the Kanu’s lawyers, Aloy Ejimakor, disclosed on X, that the judge held that the Department of State Services, DSS, medical facility is adequate for his medical care.

    The court adjourned the ongoing Kanu’s trial to 23rd October 2025 for commencement of his defence.

    “MAZI NNAMDI KANU’s case has just been adjourned to 23rd October 2025 for “commencement of his defence”. The Judge further held that the DSS medical facility is adequate for his medical care and that MNK has until 30th October to close his defense,” Ejimakor said.

    Kanu is currently undergoing trial at the country for an alleged terrorism offence brought against him by the federal government.

  • FG Arraign Sowore Over Posts Against Bola Tinubu.

    The Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government on Tuesday arraigned a human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore.

    Sowore was arraigned on a five-count charge for allegedly making false posts against President Tinubu to cause breakdown of law and order.

    Sowore, publisher of the Sahara Reporters online newspaper, is in the courtroom of the Federal High Court Abuja, to answer charges of alleged involvement in cyber bullying, cyber stalking and making false claims about Tinubu.


    The charges have X. Incorporation and Meta (Facebook) as two other defendants.

    Sowore was accused of using his official X handle to make the post, “This criminal @ official PBAT Actually went to Brazil to state that there is no more corruption under his regime in Nigeria. What audacity to lie shamelessly!”

    The alleged offending post, said to be contrary to Section 24(2) (b) of the Cybercrimes Prohibition and Prevention Act 2024, was said to have been made on August 25 within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court.

  • Dino Melaye appears in court first time on his Judicial attire.

    Former federal lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye, on Friday appeared at the Federal High Court, Abuja, with his legal garment and wig for the first time since he was called to the bar.

    According to a post on his official Facebook page, Dino, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, appeared before Justice Emeka Nwite during a court proceeding.

    He wrote, “Senator Dino Melaye @ the Federal High Court Abuja today. Appeared before Justice Emeka Nwite of Court 8.”

    DAILY POST reports that Dino was among over 5,000 lawyers recently called to the bar in Abuja.

    Dino, who graduated from Baze University, Abuja, represented the Kogi West Senatorial District at the red chamber during the 8th Assembly.

    Often seen as a controversial politician, Dino is popular among Nigerian youths for always speaking ‘truth’ to those in authority.
