APC Set to Welcome Enugu Governor Peter Mbah’s Defection from PDP on October 14.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced plans to officially receive Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, into its fold following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The formal ceremony is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in Enugu, the state capital. Governor Mbah is expected to be joined by several top political figures, including elected national and state lawmakers, members of the state executive, and key party leaders from the ward and local government levels across Enugu State.

The APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, had earlier hinted at the planned defection, noting that preparations were underway to integrate Mbah and his team into the ruling party.

During the inauguration of a seven-man caretaker committee for the APC in Enugu, the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and Deputy National Chairman (South), Hon. Emma Eneukwu, reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the party’s base in the South East.

Speaking with journalists at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja after his inauguration, the new Enugu State APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye, confirmed that Governor Mbah and his appointees would be officially welcomed into the party on October 14.
