The Kano State Police Command has arrested two suspects linked to the robbery and attempted murder of popular Singer Lil-Kesh, who resides in Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos.
The suspects, identified as 25-year-old Matthew Adewole and his accomplice, Mukhtar Muhammad, were apprehended in Unguwu Ukwu quarters, Kano, and later transferred to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
Police spokesperson Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said in a statement on Saturday that the arrests followed credible intelligence and community collaboration. He disclosed that Adewole confessed to attacking Lil-Kesh on August 19, 2025, during which the victim suffered severe injuries, including a deep cut to the neck.
According to Kiyawa, the suspects forced the victim to transfer ₦2,120,000 from his account to Muhammad’s account using his mobile phone.
He added that the operation aligned with Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun’s directive to boost intelligence-driven policing through community engagement and strategic partnerships.
Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, praised the officers involved for their diligence and thanked the public for their cooperation, assuring continued efforts to safeguard lives and property.
