The family of veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has issued an official statement following the heartbreaking death of her only son, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle, aged 24.
Ayomikun, son of Ogunmola and veteran comic actor Sunday Omobolanle (Aluwe), passed away on September 2, 2025, after a brief illness at a hospital in Ibadan.
Contrary to speculations circulating online, the family firmly dismissed claims that his death was caused by a bathroom accident.
In a statement signed by Yemi Amodu, the family clarified:
“Sola did not pass away as a result of any bathroom accident. He was briefly unwell and, despite receiving first-class medical care, he peacefully answered the call of his Creator.”
The family condemned the false reports, describing them as “painful and disrespectful,” and emphasized that such rumors dishonor his memory.
Ayomikun has since been laid to rest at Eternal Rest Home in Ibadan, surrounded by family and close friends.
Expressing gratitude, the family said:
“We are deeply touched by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support. Your kindness has been a source of strength. May the Almighty grant Sola eternal rest.”
