The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) says yellow commercial buses, known as danfos, will not be scrapped but integrated into the state’s transport system.

Managing Director Abimbola Akinajo stated on Channels Television’s Sunrise programme that danfos transport most Lagos commuters, making collaboration essential. She explained that LAMATA’s Bus Industry Transition Programme is designed to merge the informal and formal sectors for better regulation.

Akinajo added that transport unions are already running one of the state’s BRT routes successfully and are gradually embracing regulated service standards.
