EFCC Denies Political Motive In Declaring Atiku’s Son-In-Law, Abdullahi Haske Wanted.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has dismissed claims that its move to declare Abdullahi Bashir Haske, a businessman and son-in-law of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, wanted was politically motivated or tied to Atiku’s 2027 presidential ambition.
EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, described such claims as “rubbish,” stressing that Haske had been under investigation for years.
“Haske is someone we have been investigating for so many years. He is on administrative bail but jumped the process and we declared him wanted. How can anybody be insinuating that?” Oyewale told Daily Trust.
Haske, founder of AA & R Investment Group, is wanted over alleged criminal conspiracy and money laundering. He had earlier been questioned and detained, with his passport seized, but reportedly escaped using another passport.
The EFCC urged the public to provide information on his whereabouts, listing his last known addresses in Ikoyi and Victoria Island, Lagos.
