Benue Assembly Suspends Four Members Over Impeachment Plot
The Benue State House of Assembly has suspended four lawmakers for six months over an alleged attempt to impeach Speaker Aondona Dajoh.
Those affected are Alfred Berger (Makurdi North), Terna Shimawua (Kian), Cyril Ekong (Obi), and James Umoru (Apa).
The Majority Leader, Saater Tiseer, moved the motion, accusing the lawmakers of attempting to destabilize the Assembly. The Speaker subsequently ordered them out of the chambers and replaced Berger as House spokesperson with Audu Elias.
