In a shocking and heartbreaking turn of events, a young Nigerian phone repairer, Alkasum Ibrahim, has reportedly lost his life after being brutally assaulted by a soldier in Mayo-Belwa, Adamawa State.
According to SaharaReporters (July 4, 2025), the tragic incident occurred when the girlfriend of Lance Corporal Ahmada brought her phone for repairs. After Alkasum failed to fix it on time, she allegedly called the soldier, who stormed the shop and violently attacked the innocent technician.
Eyewitnesses said the assault left Alkasum unconscious. He later died from his injuries. A local youth leader described Alkasum as “a hustler, trying to survive,” calling the act “pure injustice and lawlessness.”
The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the incident, stating that the military is currently carrying out an internal probe and is expected to hand over the suspect to police custody.
