Nigerian Army Confirms Terrorist Attack in Kano Communities, Denies Casualties and Cattle Rustling

The Nigerian Army confirmed a terrorist attack on Faruruwa and other villages in Shanono Local Government Area, Kano State, but denied reports of deaths or cattle theft.

According to Maj. Zubair Babatunde, the assailants attempted to invade the communities on motorcycles, firing sporadically. Troops of the Joint Task Force engaged the attackers, preventing casualties and property damage. The army described the assault as a revenge attack following earlier losses of bandits in the area.

Babatunde reassured residents of the military’s commitment to security and urged cooperation with authorities. Last week, nine bandits were reportedly killed during a military operation in the same local government area.
