Nigerian Nurses’ Forum Condemns Brutal Assault on Nurse by Doctor at Asaba Specialist Hospital

The Elegant Nurses Forum (ENF) has strongly condemned the alleged assault of a nurse by a medical doctor, identified as Dr. Mark, at the Asaba Specialist Hospital in Delta State. The forum described the incident as brutal, disgraceful, and a serious violation of medical ethics, stating that it occurred in the presence of patients and left the nurse visibly injured. ENF warned that such acts reflect a growing culture of impunity within Nigeria’s health sector and demanded immediate professional and legal action, including suspension of the doctor’s licence, an independent investigation, and stronger protections for nurses against workplace violence.
