Ini Edo Appeals Against Withdrawal of ‘A Very Dirty Christmas,’ Insists Film Respects Christianity

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ini Edo has pleaded with regulators and the public not to withdraw her film A Very Dirty Christmas from cinemas. In an emotional Instagram video, she clarified that the controversy is only about the title, not the content, and emphasized that the film does not ridicule Christianity. Edo expressed willingness to change the title if necessary, apologized to anyone offended, and highlighted the financial and distribution implications of pulling the movie. The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has requested the title be modified in response to concerns from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
