On December 17, 2025, in Dansadau town (Maru LGA, Zamfara State), outr@ged locals att4cked state assembly member Kabiru Mikailu (also known as Mika’ilu Kabiru Dangulbi), who represents Maru South Constituency.
The assault occurred while he accompanied Governor Dauda Lawal on a historic visit, the first by a sitting governor in over 20 years to flag off reconstruction of the 90+ km Dansadau to Gusau road and other projects.
Residents accvsed Mikailu of neglecting the area since his election: rarely visiting, skipping Sallah events, and failing to support families hit by ongoing b4nd!t attcks.
A viral video shows him being sl4pped, m4nhandled, and shouted at with "bamayii" (Hausa for strong rej3ction/@nger). Security forces intervened to restore calm.
Governor Lawal received a warm welcome and was turbaned as Garkuwan Dansadau by the local emir.
