Driver Attached to Gombe Governor’s Chief of Staff Assaults and Publicly Humiliates Sitting Ward Councillor in Broad Daylight

A serving councillor representing Shamaki Ward in Gombe Local Government Area was assaulted and publicly humiliated by a driver attached to the Chief of Staff to Gombe State Governor, Abubakar Inuwa Kari. In a viral video, the driver repeatedly punched and threatened the councillor as bystanders pleaded for calm. The attacker allegedly claimed the councillor had disrespected the Chief of Staff. As of the time of reporting, the Gombe State Government and the Chief of Staff’s office had yet to issue an official statement, sparking public calls for investigation and accountability.
