Russian cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev has been removed from the Crew 12 mission just months before its scheduled launch to the ISS.

Artemyev was dismissed for violating ITAR export control regulations: he reportedly photographed SpaceX engines and other internal documents on his phone and took them off the base, The Insider reports.

Since 2019, Artemyev has been a deputy in the Moscow regional parliament and a member of Putin’s "United Russia" party.
