Putin Defies Trump With Second Nuclear Weapons Test In Days đ·đșđ„
Russia has carried out another test of its nuclear-capable underwater drone, Poseidon, President Vladimir Putin announced on Wednesday — just days after testing the Burevestnik cruise missile, despite US President Donald Trump’s warnings.
Putin declared that no country can match Poseidon’s speed or depth, boasting that it can operate at over one kilometre deep and travel up to 70 knots, making it “impossible to intercept.”
Trump, who recently called the earlier missile test “not appropriate,” urged Putin to focus on ending the war in Ukraine instead of escalating nuclear demonstrations.
The latest move heightens tensions between Moscow and Washington, as Trump has expressed frustration over Putin’s refusal to agree to a ceasefire, prompting the US to impose new sanctions on Russia’s major oil firms.
