FG Unveils Theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary

The Federal Government has announced the theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day celebrations: “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”

The announcement was contained in a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja by the Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Segun Imohiosen.

According to the statement, the theme underscores the importance of unity, patriotism, and collaboration among government institutions, the private sector, civil society, and citizens to advance peace, prosperity, and national progress.

The government noted that the choice of theme reflects Nigeria’s resilience since independence in 1960 and the need to consolidate past achievements while pursuing greater goals under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“All government activities and programmes are expected to align with the anniversary theme to ensure its message resonates across all areas of national life,” the statement read.

Anniversary Events
As part of the celebrations, a Juma’at prayer will hold on Friday, September 26, followed by an inter-denominational church service on Sunday, September 28. A World Press Conference is scheduled for Monday, September 29, in Abuja.

The statement added that the anniversary events would highlight Nigeria’s journey since independence and reinforce the call for collective responsibility in building a stronger nation.
