Six Arrested Over Benue Attack That Killed Three Police Officers
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested six suspects after an attack on Police Tactical Teams by suspected armed herdsmen and militias at Agu Centre, Katsina-Ala/Ukum LGA, Benue State. The September 19 attack left three officers dead, while seven remain missing.
Force PRO Benjamin Hundeyin said the suspects are assisting investigators, while CP Innocent Ifeanyi Emenari leads operations to rescue the missing officers. Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun condemned the attack as “cruel and unwarranted” and ordered additional tactical deployments to the area.
The police urged residents to stay calm and cooperate with security agencies as efforts continue to dismantle criminal networks and restore peace in the region.
